Mela's Bio
A professional voiceover artist for film and television, Mela Lee is featured in over 100 animated series, games, and movies. Additionally, her voice matching and flexibility have kept her in demand as part of The Final Word ADR Voice Group. You've heard her voice most recently as a mermaid in "Pirates of the Caribbean-On Stranger Tides", and on "The Good Wife", "Entourage", & "Californication".
Mela is also the primary writer and lead singer for the group, Magnolia Memoir, whose debut album won rave critical reviews. The group has recently signed a recording contract with Peak/eOne Music. A teaser EP is Scheduled for release August 30, 2011, and their second full album, The Perfect Crime, is due for release in February 2012.
Lee’s five-octave range and unique sound are reminiscent of a young Etta James or Billie Holiday along with the mischievous sensuality of Gwen Stefani, the haunting vulnerability of Adele, and the depth and modern edge of Fiona Apple. Grammy Award Winner Andrae Crouch says of Lee, “She has the voice of an angel and can break the heart of heaven”.
